Meet Terry Fox, an ordinary Port Coquitlam, BC teen who turned into an extraordinary inspiration. His battle with cancer and amputation fueled his determination to end cancer’s suffering. Terry embarked on a cross-Canada run, starting on April 12th, 1980, to raise funds for cancer research. His journey united Canadians like never before, but cancer returned, and on September 1st, 1980, he had to stop after running 5,373 kilometers. Before his death on June 28, 1981, his spirit ignited the spark of hope for a cure and influenced thousands. Since 1980, more than 850 million dollars have been raised for cancer research, proving that dreams can come true if you try!
